Scope of practice
Hypnotherapy and the support services offered form part of a counselling relationship, outside the medical and regulated framework. They are therefore in no way a substitute for medical treatment or procedures, although they may complement them. The service provided by the practitioner is not covered by the French statutory health insurance system and is therefore not reimbursed by it. However, several private health insurers and supplementary health insurance schemes offer (partial) reimbursement for a number of hypnotherapy sessions.
